FreeFind sends out its email immediately - before the
next web page is shown. If you are not receiving email
it could be due to one of the following reasons:
It's just taking longer than expected to arrive,
You are receiving it, but your email program is placing it in a unexpected folder, or
Your ISP is filtering the email, preventing it from getting to you.
The recommended solutions for these problems are:
For 1, there is nothing to do but wait. Typically email
arrives within a few minutes after it was sent. In some
cases it can take an hour or more. Pacific Bell (PacBell)
has been having a lot of problems with very slow email
delivery, sometimes taking over a day to deliver!
Be patient.
For 2, if your email gets filtered into different folders,
check all the folders to make sure it wasn't mis-filtered by mistake.
For 3, ask your ISP if they filter any types of email.
If so, get an exact description of the filters they have
in place. There is no reason mail from us should be filtered,
so if you discover that an ISP is filtering our email please
let us know.
This is probably due to having instructed our spider to index your site every day.
To have your site spidered less frequently - or to turn off automatic spidering altogether -
go to the Control Center and log
in to your account. Then go to the
page and use the schedule re-indexing link.
To turn it off completely, select "only when I request it" under the "try to index my site" selection.
After you have adjusted the schedule as desired, press the
button to save your changes.
